Sunvado was founded in 2018, with the vision of offering local avocado farmers access to the export market. As the remote region of Southern Ethiopia is less suitable for exporting fresh avocados, most avocados were only sold on the local market, at very low prices. The Sunvado organic avocado oil processing facility is able to offer the avocado farmers a better price for their produce, while offering Premium organic avocado oil to customers around the world. 

During 2018 and 2019, Sunvado worked together with the avocado farmer cooperatives to set up the organic monitoring system and to obtain the organic certification. At the same time, the construction work started on the state-of-the-art organic avocado oil processing line. By early 2019, the farmer cooperatives obtained their organic certification and before mid-2019 the factory produced its first batches of organic avocado oil. 

Tradin Organic Agriculture was founded in the early 1980's, pioneering the market as distributor to the emerging organic food movement. Over the past decades, we helped to develop a multitude of organic agriculture projects around the globe. Tradin Organic also has a long track-record in promoting organic production in Ethiopia. Already for over two decades, we have been working with coffee farmers and with sesame farmers in Ethiopia. We also have our own organic sesame processing facility in Addis Ababa.

In 2020, Tradin Organic joined Amsterdam Commodities N.V. (Acomo).
